The great depression in the 30's hit everyone. The outer decayed, while the rich still clutching the picture of their own prosperity. This I have tried to retrieve a combination of materials. The thin, delicate cotton with black shoes, gray jersey with gold stripes. Dress in coarse wool and edged in gold. Rich and poor together. A major inspiration was the series Carnivale that reflects this contrast well.
